A police statement on Tuesday said that there were five encounters of the police with the alleged criminals and two gangs of alleged criminals were busted during the period. A policeman also sustained injuries.

In all, 12 pistols, two hand grenades, one rifle and two daggers recovered from the possession of the accused, the police statement further pointed out.

 The police have registered cases against the accused and started investigation.
