The electric supply disappeared with the first drop of rain and later resumed at 4-45 p.m. The spell submerged city roads under knee deep water while the low lying areas suffered most where the houses were also submerged to roof level.

The rain brought business activities at stand still and most of the shop keepers closed shops as customers disappeared. The sky is still overcast and more rain is expected.
