ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly 45th session is likely to be summoned on September 3, sources told this correspondent on Tuesday.

According to the sources, a summary for summoning the assembly session has been sent to the President for approval.

The session is likely to continue till September 19, but it may be prolonged, depending on the consent of members of the lower house of Parliament.

The following bills are awaiting the National Assembly’s approval, sources said. The bills included ‘the Gwadar Port Authority Bill, 2012’, ‘the Provincial Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill, 2012’, ‘the Central Law Officers (Amendment) Bill, 2010 (Ordinance NoXXV of 2009)’, ‘the Pakistan Academy of Letters Bill, 2012’ and ‘the Airport Security Force (Amendment) Bill, 2011’ are likely to be passed in the upcoming session.

Similarly, ‘The Criminal Law (Amendment) bill, 2011’, ‘the Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils (Amendment) bill, 2011’, the Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) bill, 2007’, ‘Federal Public Service Commission (Amendment) bill, 2009’ and ‘the National Commission for Human Development (Amendment) bill, 2009’ are also awaiting approval of the National Assembly.
