KARACHI: Supreme Court of Pakistan has given time to Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf to write a letter to Swiss authorities to re-open case  against President Asif Ali Zardari, media reported on Monday.

According to the details, Supreme Court gave time to PM Raja till September 18 to write a letter.

Supreme Court ordered premier Raja Pervez Ashraf to appear before the court on September 18.

On August 8, Apex court issued show cause notice to premier Raja Pervez Ashraf.

During the conversation with Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said that I appeared before the court as former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani had appeared.

Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa said that Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf would not appear before the court as an accused.

“Premier Raja Pervez Ashraf is the respectable prime minister of a respectable nation”, Khosa added.

Apex court adjourned NRO implementation case till September 18.

Earlier this morning, Prime Minister Raja pervez Ashraf reached Supreme Court of Pakistan for hearing the contempt of court case regarding the implementation of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).

The hearing of contempt of court case regarding the implementation of NRO started in the court room no. 2.

It is pertinent to mention that former prime minister Yousuf Raza Galani appeared before the court three times.

Apex court disqualified former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani for not writing a letter to Swiss authorities.

On Sunday, PPP and coalition partners decided in a meeting that Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf would appear before the Supreme Court.

Law Minister Farooq Naek gave a comprehensive briefing on the issues involved in court cases and the options available to tackle them.
