KP agricultural budget registers record increase of 17pc

Talking to a representative delegation from across the province, he said that 17 per cent record increase in the agricultural budget is a big achievement and success of the present provincial government.

He said that on behalf of the approval of Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti an amount of Rs 500 million have released for bringing economic stability and establishment of Agricultural Model Farms Services Centres in the province.

Under the project Farms Services Centres will provide quality seed, pesticides and machinery to farmers of the province on concessional rates.

He said that in past no government paid attention to the development ofagricultural sector.

However, he said that the present government during last four years had given priority to it.

He said that the fertile lands of Khyber Pakhtunkhaw beside seasonal and unseasonal vegetables are also suitable for plantation of orchards and production maize crop.

Therefore, he said that the government had approved the plantation of orchards on maximum lands of Peshawar, Hazara and Malakand.

Similarly, he said that for bringing millions of barren lands in southern districts under cultivation, the chief minister is contacted with Prime Minister for the construction of Chashma Left Canal and with different donor agencies for initiating solar energy projects for irrigating millions of acres land from Nizampur to Karak.
