Beyonce to direct, star in a new documentary

04 Aug, 2012

Beyonce is a pretty private person. The public has never seen her and Jay-Z's wedding photos. She went as far as renting out an entire floor when she gave birth to daughter Blue Ivy but she's about to give her fans a backstage pass to her life with a new documentary.

A leading media tabloid reports that Beyoncé's agents at ICM are looking for distribution for a documentary focusing on her life and career. A source close to the film, who was not authorized to talk about it publicly, revealed that 20 minutes of footage has been shown to prospective distributors.

The documentary will focus on the release of her 2011 album 4 as well as her marriage to Jay-Z and the birth of the couple's daughter Blue Ivy in January 2012.

Beyonce is now set to follow in the footsteps of Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus with the fly-on-the-wall concert movie.

The star teased fans on her official website in July with a cryptic message ‘Leave Your Footprint on 19 August 2012’, which could be linked to the documentary.

Beyonce has had numerous movie roles, including major parts in Austin Powers in Goldmember, Dreamgirls and Cadillac Records among others.

Her next potential big screen project is a remake of “A Star Is Born.”
