KARACHI: “Cocktail” star Deepika Padukone is not just a refined actress but also a passionate sports lover, and because of this passion she is very keen to attend the Olympics even if it’s for a day.

The superstar is currently shooting for Ayan Mukerji’s upcoming film “Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani” with co-star Ranbir Kapoor. She plans to take some time off from the film’s shooting for a quick visit to the London Olympics.

“It gives me gooseflesh when I think of the Games because sports have been a part of my life. I've played badminton at state level when I was younger. And I know how our sporting heroes must feel right now,” she said.

“My dates have been allotted to the movie, but if I request Ayan, he may just let me go. I don't mind even if it's for a day,” Padukone said.

So far, filmmaker Karan Johar and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh are the only invited guests at the London Olympics this year that will begin on July 25.
