KARACHI: As it is planned to build a 2000 square yard mausoleum in memory of the late music maestro Medhi Hasan, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has invited the general public to submit designs for the proposed monument.
The KMC Administrator announced on Tuesday that 31st July is the deadline for submitting designs by interested architects and organizations for the proposed mausoleum in the city.
Submitted designs should depict the personality and services of Hassan for the field of music. They are not supposed to be of technical details but the diagram of the mausoleum should suggest the elevation, number of domes and other aspects of the structure.
The three Best Designers of the Mausoleum’s Design Competition are to be awarded prizes, certificates and shields, with the name of the selected Designer being carved on the completed monument.
The decision of the final design will be taken with the mutual consent of the late singer’s family.
