PR retrieves Rs5bn land

According to a report available with APP, railways administration has retrieved 2204.586 acres agriculture, commercial and residential land uptil now from private and government departments and institutions during a grand operation started in January.

The cost of the retrieved land is over Rs 5 billion, the report added.

Before the launch of the operation, 5,323 acres railway land was under illegal occupaton and 2204.586 acres was cleared of encroachers but hundreds of acres of land is yet to be cleared.

According to the report, a dispute of 1,255 acres land with the Pakistan army was also settled. However, 95.730 acres land is still in dispute.
