Power firm launches drive to recover Rs39bn dues

Out of Rs 39 billion, various departments of the federal and provincial governments have a liability of more than Rs 27 billion while the private consumers have to pay outstanding dues of Rs 12 billion, a HESCO spokesman informed here on Friday.

On the directives of Chief Executive Officer HESCO Muzaffar Ali Abbasi, the spokesman informed that vigilance teams are conducting surprise raids door to door in the region and disconecting power connections of the defaulters. In case of non payment of outstanding dues, cases will also be registered against the defaulters, he added.

The Chief Executive Officer HESCO has already issued strict warning to all officers to ensure cent percent recovery of outstanding dues and if any officer fail to achieve the task, he will be placed under suspension, the spokesman informed.
