02 Jun, 2012

Addressing a big gathering after performing sui gas supply schemes in Mauza Khawajgan, Shah Jehanian, Azam Nagar and Mauza Thekrian, he said that despite anger by the world powers, the government inked gas pipeline agreement with Iran while talk on electricity was in progress with Iran.

We are ready to take 500 MW electricity from India, he said. He further said that 200 MW electricity was being generated through wind in the country.

He said that equal loadshedding would be resorted to all cities including Lahore, Islamabad, Lalamusa and other cities.

He dispelled the impression of taking electricity from China at the rate of Rs 300 per house and termed it baseless.

The minister said the government had presented unprecedented 5th federal budget 2012-13. He said that salaries of labourers were increased when prices of oil at international market were increased. The incumbent during its constitutional tenure raised 150 percent salaries of government employees, he claimed.

Criticizing PML-N, Kaira said that rumpus by the PML-N during the budget session of the national assembly would not benefit to the democracy.

Former provincial finance minister Ch Tanvir Ashraf Kaira also spoke on the occasion.
