In a tweet on Sunday, he said the formula that prevention is better than treatment will have to be adopted to defeat the disease.

He maintained, "We will have to prove that we are a responsible nation, not a crowd." Faraz said the golden principles of Faith, Unity and Discipline will have to be followed.

On Sunday, at least 3,039 new coronavirus cases have been reported while 88 people lost their lives due to the disease across the country during the last 24 hours. The total number of infected people in the country has reached 69,496.

According to the government's Covid-19 portal, 25,056 cases have so far been detected in Punjab, 27,360 in Sindh, 9,540 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 4,193 in Balochistan, 2,418 in Islamabad, 678 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 251 in Azad Kashmir.

During 24 hours, 25,271 patients have recovered from the virus while the death toll stands at 1,483.

Similarly,14,972 corona tests were also carried out.
