The cockpit voice recorder of the unfortunate A320 aircraft of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been found under debris after six days.
PIA spokesman confirmed that cockpit voice recorder of flight PK-8303 was found from the crash site. He hoped that cockpit voice recorder would further help the investigation team in air crash inquiry and added that the cockpit voice recorder was handed over to the Aircraft Accident Investigation Board (AAIB).
According to details, the investigation team, which yesterday gave go-ahead to shift the wreckages of ill-fated A320 aircraft to the Jinnah International Airport (JIAP), has ordered lifting and removal of heavy parts from the crash site and transport it to the designated hanger at airport.
After the removal of heavy parts, a fresh search was initiated to locate the cockpit voice recorder, which was later found from the debris of the aircraft.
Meanwhile, the national flag carrier has also confirmed the identification of 52 bodies of which 47 have been handed over to the deceased families.
Moreover, PIA said that they were making travel arrangements for the families and transportation of bodies of the deceased to their homes. The process of identification through DNA testing is continuing, PIA maintained.
Meanwhile, Airbus experts visited crash site on the third consecutive day to examine and collect evidence from the wreckage of flight PK-8303 in the presence of PIA and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials. In addition, Prime Minister Imran Khan during meeting was also briefed about the latest developments in the investigation of the PIA plane crash in Islamabad, sources said and added that the meeting was attended by PIA, CAA officials and federal ministers.
