215 shops sealed in Lahore for violating SOPs

The District Administration Lahore on Thursday took stern action against shops involved in the violation of Covid-19 related SOPs and sealed 215 shops of busy markets located in diverse parts of the provincial capital.

Similarly, warnings were also issued to shopkeepers to follow all the SOPs otherwise they will be forced to shut shops.

District Commissioner Lahore Danish Afzal directed all assistant commissioners to visit markets in their respective areas and ensure the implementation of SOPs.

AC City Tabraz Murree along with SP City visited Shah Alam Market, Anakali Bazaar, and Azam Market, Islampura, and Beadon Road, and on the occasion sealed 160 shops for not following the precautionary measures. Similarly, dozens of shops were also sealed in the Azam Cloth Market. The Lahore administration sealed 12 shops Raiwind Bazar and 27 shops in the Cantonment area, including leading brands. Meanwhile, Punjab Trade and Commerce Minister Main Aslam Iqbal, DC Lahore Danish Afzal and DIG Operations Rai Babar visited Liberty Market where they inspected the situation. They urged upon shopkeepers to follow the SOPs.
