The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) donated on Friday protective kits to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) for the passengers and the national carrier's staff.

The equipment worth $100,000, includes protective suit, masks and goggles, local media reported. PIA Chief Executive Office Air Marshal Arshad Malik expressed his gratitude to NDMA Chairman  Lieutenant General Afzal for the donation.

PIA has been conducting special flights since two months and bringing back stranded Pakistanis from different countries. These protective equipment will help keep the staff and the passengers safe from the novel coronavirus.

Till now, 19,329 Pakistani nationals have been brought back from different countries around the globe. However, 108,592 Pakistanis are still awaiting their repatriation.
