Karachi may be in the grip of a heatwave from May 5 to 8 and the temperature may go up to 40 to 42 degrees Celsius, the Meteorological Department has forecasted.

The Meteorological Department said that the heatwave is likely to intensify in the city. The met said that the wind will blow from the south and west during this time while it will not be very hot in the evening and at night.

Weather forecasters further said that the weather in the city will remain hot and humid today, with the maximum temperature expected to reach 35 to 37 degrees Celsius today.

According to the Meteorological Department, the current temperature of the city was recorded at 32 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was recorded at 27 degrees celsius. The westerly winds are blowing at a speed of 22 km per hour, whereas, the humidity level is 63 percent.
