Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Bin Saeed Al Maliki handed over 20,000 ration bags to Punjab Governor Chaudhary Mohammad Sarwar here on Thursday which will be distributed in Lahore and other cities of Punjab.

This donation is a part of the one million dollars aid package announced by King Salman Aid and Relief Centre for unemployed Pakistanis suffering from the Corona pandemic.

On the occasion, the Governor appreciated the support extended by the Saudi and said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy brotherly relations.

"During to the pandemic, more than 10 million Pakistanis have lost jobs and these ration bags will give them a big relief. The federal and provincial governments are ensuring the provision of basic sustenance to the people," he added.

According to him, under his supervision, Punjab Development Network is distributed 500,000 ration bags to deserving families. The government will also provide ration to people at their doorsteps during Ramazan ul Mubarik.

Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Bin Saeed Al Maliki said that they are pleased to distribute ration to unemployed families in Pakistan and they are working along with the Punjab Governor. "King Salman Aid and Relief Centre is providing aid to 49 countries, including Pakistan.

We are proud of having Pakistan as our brotherly friend since the independence of Pakistan. Our strategic, economic, humanitarian and diplomatic relations are growing day by day and we are standing with the people of Pakistan in the time of crisis," he added.
