A statement issued from the High Commission of Pakistan in Delhi stated that the citizens had gone to India on different visas including visit, pilgrimage and medical and had been stuck in Agra, Delhi and parts of Haryana and Punjab.

There are still some 145 Pakistanis stuck in India, the statement added.

Earlier, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on National Security Division and Strategic Policy Planning Moeed Yusuf said that government wanted to lift stranded Pakistanis across the world in a safe manner.

“Self-isolation for the Pakistanis coming back from the other countries is mandatory”, Moeed Yusuf said.

He said government of Pakistan is trying to bring back 6,000 to 7,000 stranded Pakistanis every week, while strict monitoring of the operation is also on.
