  • WHO Representative Dr. Palitha Gunarathna Mahipala appreciated Prime Minister Imran Khan's efforts to control the pandemic.

World Health Organization (WHO) donated on Monday 15 testing machines and 15000 testing kits to Pakistan to help it battle coronavirus.

National Disaster Management Authority Chairman Lieutenant General Muhammad Afzal was also present in the ceremony held in Islamabad.

Addressing the ceremony, WHO Representative Dr. Palitha Gunarathna Mahipala appreciated Prime Minister Imran Khan's efforts to control the pandemic. The representative said the equipment has been provided to support Pakistan's efforts in preventing spread of COVID19, local media reported.

Earlier, Chinese billionaire Jack Ma’s Foundation and Alibaba Foundation donated 1.8 million masks, kits for testing 210,000 people, 36,000 pieces of protective clothing, as well as essential medical equipment such as ventilators and forehead thermometers to Pakistan.
