PM fulfilled his promise of making reports public: Firdous

Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that identification of government personalities in Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) report on sugar and wheat crisis is an example of self-accountability.
SAPM expressed these views during a press conference in Sialkot on Sunday. She added that Prime Minister Imran Khan has started accountability process from his own party. She further added that PM Imran fulfilled his promise of "not two but one Pakistan" by making the report public.
While criticising Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), she added that PML-N gave subsidy of Rs22 billion, compared to Rs3 billion subsidy given by PTI government.
Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that it is not the time for political altercations among political parties, a unified response required to deal with the dreaded coronavirus pandemic.
Shifting gears to the FIA report against wheat, sugar and rice hoarders and profiteers who manufactured a crisis of the essential items a few months back, Awan said that justice will be done.
The Inquiry Commission will publish a detailed report on wheat and sugar crises by 25 April revealed SAPM Ashiq Awan. She said appropriate legal action will be taken against those involved in creating the crisis. Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that preliminary reports into sudden price hikes of sugar and wheat have been released immediately without alteration and tampering.
Taking to Twitter PM Imran Khan said, "I await the detailed forensic reports now by the high-powered commission, which will come out on 25 April, before taking action. InshaAllah, after these reports come out no powerful lobby will be able to profiteer at the expense of our public."
He further said that previous political leadership, because of their vested interests and compromises, lacked the moral courage to order and release such reports.
On the other hand, President of PML-N Mian Shehbaz Sharif has demanded action against people responsible for wheat and sugar crisis in light of newly released report of FIA on the matter.
The opposition leader said that FIA report is indictment against Imran Khan and Punjab CM Usman Buzdar.
