  • Both patients had tested positive for the disease on April 1.
  • One patient was 60 years old and was suffering from heart complications while the other was 82 years old and had renal issues.
  • The provincial death toll has gone up to 13.

Provincial Health Minister Azra Pechuho said both patients had tested positive for the disease on April 1.

She added one patient was 60 years old and was suffering from heart complications.  He was placed on a ventilator. The other patient, who was 82 years old had renal issues, Pechuho stated.

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the province has reached 783. So far, 13 people have died of the disease while 65 patients have recovered.

The number of confirmed cases in Pakistan has soared past 2,000. By late March, the virus claimed over 11 lives.

The figures are  largely driven by a wave of pilgrims returning from Iran who Pakistani authorities said were inadequately tested and improperly isolated.
