The minister said that the 59-year-old patient was a resident of Karachi and was admitted to the hospital on March 19. She added the patient had returned from Saudi Arabia and was tested positive for the virus the same day.

On March 29, 2020, two people suffering from coronavirus died in Karachi.  Provincial Health Minister Azra Pechuho said that both persons were suffering from Pneumonia and coronavirus symptoms. She added the laboratory reports were received after death of the two patients.

She said that one of the deceased was 70 years old while the other was 83 years of age. She maintained both patients were admitted to Jinnah Hospital and Dow University Hospital Ojha Campus.

So far, more than 2,000 people have been infected with coronavirus across the country. Of the total, 709 cases are in Sindh, 748 in Punjab, 54 in Islamabad, 158 in Balochistan, 253 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and 190 in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Besides, 28 people have fallen victim to the deadly pandemic while 85 have recovered.
