The recent fatality has increased the number of dead victims from the disease in Lahore to two. Meanwhile, 70 new cases of the disease have been reported in Punjab. The total number of COVID-19 cases has reached 405 in the province.

Meanwhile, the health department stated that 207 confirmed cases of coronavirus were reported in Dera Ghazi Khan, 22 in Multan, 103 people in Lahore, 22 in Gujrat, eight in Gujranwala, 19 in Jhelum, 12 in Rawalpindi, three in Faisalabad, two in Mandi Bahauddin, one in Narowal, two in Mianwali and one each in Sargodha, Attock, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan.

Earlier on Thursday, seven more cases of coronavirus were reported in Karachi, taking the total toll of infected persons to 153 in the city. The total number of cases in Sindh rose to 421 while 1,106 confirmed patients have been reported in country.

A Sindh health official said that tests of seven people came out positive. He added all cases were related to local transmission of the disease. He stated that the new cases have been reported in Karachi during the last 24 hours.

Of the total number of cases in Sindh, 14 people have so far recovered from the disease. Of them 13 belong to Karachi and one from Hyderabad.
