KE lauded for accepting bills of March sans ISPA charges

Capt A Moiz Khan, patron-in-chief, North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI) and President Naseem Akhtar has welcomed K-Electric decision to accept electricity bills of March without ISPA charges as it was demanded to defer ISPA by NKATI
K-Electric has agreed that the current bill of March 2020 can be paid without ISPA arrears and late payment surcharge will be payable before 31st March 2020, but due to coronavirus threats and lockdown, it's not possible for industries to pay bills within due date because industries are shutdown on Sindh Govt orders, so extend date till 10th April 2020. Otherwise, majority of industries will default.
They said that NKATI had sent a letter to K-Electric a few days ago demanding to defer ISPA charges and refused to pay for 3 years' bills. They said according to the media reports now K-Electric has deferred the ISPA arrears amount till 30th April 2020. The amount will be paid by industry to K-Electric if they are unable to restore from the federal government. NKATI leaders have demanded K-Electric not to enforce ISPA charges till negotiations with the government for restoration of industrial support package.
