Campaign to create awareness about coronavirus begins in Lahore

The Lahore administration has started an awareness campaign on coronavirus preventive measures along with cleanliness and sterilization process in major commercial markets and spots of the provincial capital here on Saturday. In this connection, District Commissioner Lahore Danish Afzal oversaw the sterilization process of Town Hall.

On the occasion, he told the media that the Lahore administration is taking all possible measures to control coronavirus in the city and create awareness about the disease among the citizens. He said that the departments concerned have been directed to further improve cleanliness at the railways station, bus stands, and fish poultry and animal markets.

Meanwhile, the district administration called a coordination meeting of MCL, WASA, LWMC, PHA, Rescue 1122, health authority, information and other departments, which was chaired the Deputy Commissioner.

Danish asked all the heads of the departments to ensure maximum awareness about precautionary and preventive measures at all level. He said that special documentaries, with a message about coronavirus, were constantly aired on billboards, electronic steamers, cinemas, TVs installed in buses and cable networks. He urged on all departments to utilize their resources in a coordinated manner.
