PPP forms organising body for merged districts

Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has announced organizing committees to recommend names of suitable activists to be appointed as office bearers in all of the merged tribal districts. The decision was taken in a meeting of the party's provincial cabinet which was held here with the provincial president in the chair, said a statement issued here on Friday.

On the occasion it was decided that the organizing committee for Bajaur district would be headed by Malakand division president Dr Afsar-ul-Mulk as coordinator with Azam Afridi, Comrade Anwar Zeb, Bakht Baidar Khan as members. The organizing committee for Khyber district would be headed by Peshawar division president Liaquat Shabab with Azam Afridi, Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha, Sartaj Khan as members. The committee for Orakzai district will be led by Nadir Khan Khattak while Syed Ayub Shah and Gohar Inqilabi as members.

Likewise the committee for North Waziristan district would be headed by Sher Azam Wazir with Ahmad Karim Kundi, Farzand Ali Khan Wazir and Shaukat Ali Khan as members. The South Waziristan district's organizing committee of PPP will be led by Ahmad Karim Kundi with Sher Azam Khan Wazir, Farzand Ali Khan Wazir and Shaukat Ali Khan as members.

According to a statement issued here the committees were directed to visit the relevant areas for holding meetings with the party workers in order to discuss the reorganization process and select three names for each of the offices. The proposed names, it said, would be presented to the provincial president within fifteen days so that new office bearers would be announced in consultation with the top leadership.
