"Regarding the resignation of former Attorney General for Pakistan Anwar Mansoor Khan, a joint investigation team (JIT) should be constituted to look into whether there is any interference of the prime minister and the president in this matter."

"Law Minister Farogh Naseem and Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar should also [have resigned] along with the Attorney General for Pakistan," PPP Central Secretary Information Dr Nafisa Shah and Deputy Secretary Information Palwasha Khan expressed these views, while addressing a joint news conference on Monday.

They said that the ordinances are coming from the "Presidential factory" and the Parliament has been paralyzed.

They said that the prime minister was engaged in the "politics of eggs and calves", while the chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) had gone missing.

The PPP leaders claimed that the government had attacked the Parliament by bringing new rules about social media.

They said that the government should table a bill in the Parliament in this regard for proper legislation.

Dr Nafisa Shah said, "The PTI has started confrontation with judiciary after Parliament, the ECP and the Sindh government."

"Former Attorney General Anwar Mansoor says that I have given my resignation at the request of Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) but the Minister for Law says that he has resigned because of us," she said.

Dr Shah said, "A JIT should be formed to probe the matter of resignation of the Attorney General for Pakistan to see whether there was any interference of the prime minister and the president in this regard or not." She said that Opposition Leader Shahbaz Sharif should return to Pakistan and play his role.

Dr Shah said that currently Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari was playing the role real opposition leader in the country.

Answering a question, she said that there were two options for the opposition, in-house change or new general elections in the country.

Palwasha Khan said that a movement should be initiated for protecting the dignity of the judiciary.

Opposition parties should come out together against the PTI government for its confrontation with the judiciary.
