Nation to get rid of polio with mutual efforts: Buzdar

On the second day of the anti-polio campaign in Punjab, a special ceremony was held here on Tuesday with Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar as the chief guest who administered the anti-polio vaccine to the children.

While expressing his sheer determination to make the anti-polio campaign a success, Usman Buzdar said the nation would get rid of that disease with mutual efforts. "It is my message that everyone should play their role for the success of this campaign," he added.

According to him, during this anti-polio campaign, a target to administer the anti-polio vaccine to 20 million children had been set and they would achieve that goal. In order to protect the future of our nation from disability, this campaign should be taken as a united drive; nations move forward and make progress that develops and promote healthy societies.

The Chief Minister directed the official concerned that field teams should ensure that no child is left from anti-polio vaccine and added they had to win the war against polio at any cost. "Saving innocent children from polio is our joint responsibility, as it is our national duty," he added.

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid, Punjab Housing Minister Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, Advisor Health Haneef Pitafi, Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Captain Muhammad Usman (retd) and others were also present on this occasion.
