Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived on Thursday in Pakistan on a two-day official visit which is aimed at further deepening and broadening of the flourishing Pakistan-Turkey strategic partnership.

He was received by Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Emine Erdo?an at the Nur Khan Airbase. A guard of honour was also presented to the Turkish president at the PM House.

Erodgan last visited Pakistan in 2016 accompanied by his wife Emine and a high-level delegation. He is accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising cabinet members and senior government officials as well as heads and CEOs of leading Turkish corporations.

During his stay, the Turkish president will meet President Dr. Arif Alvi and PM. According to a press release by the Foreign Office, the PM and Erdogan will have tete-a-tete, after which they will co-chair the 6th Session of the Pakistan-Turkey High Level Strategic Cooperation Council in the joint cabinet format.

They will also will address the Pakistan-Turkey Business and Investment Forum which brings together leading investors and business-people from both sides. Erodgan will also address a Joint Session of Parliament of Pakistan on February 14.

"Pakistan and Turkey have a unique and abiding relationship characterized by mutual support and exceptional mutual trust and understanding. The two brotherly countries have always been each other’s steadfast partners. Turkey supports the cause of self-determination for the people of Indian-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir. Pakistan stands by Turkey on the question of Cyprus," the FO statement further said.
