The Islamabad High Court (IHC) instructed on Tuesday the government to review its decision of not bringing back the Pakistanis stranded in Wuhan, China which is the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak.

During the hearing regarding repatriation of Pakistani students in China, Chief Justice Athar Minallah asked why the government had not brought back the citizens from Wuhan, local media reported. "If Bangladesh can evacuate its citizens, why can’t Pakistan do the same" Justice Minallah questioned.

The high court chief justice said that the Pakistani citizens should be evacuated from China and can be kept separately once they are brought back home. He further said that Australia has kept its evacuated citizens on an island and Pakistan can do the same and keep its citizen Gwadar.

The total number of deaths in China has reached 1,016 with 42,638 confirmed cases of the deadly coronavirus.
