Export shipments: APMPEA terms ANF's checking process 'reckless'

All Pakistan Meat Processors & Exporters Association (APMPEA) Chairman Nasib Ahmad Saifi has drawn the attention of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and Ministry of National Food Security & Research (MNFS&R) towards what he claimed 'reckless checking of meat export shipments' by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).

He claimed that such a mishandling on the part of the ANF is resulting in to delay of shipments and even in missing the flights booked for the shipments concerned. He appealed the authorities concerned to take immediate remedial measures for mending the situation.

Saifi while talking to Business Recorder here on Saturday alleged that the clearing agents have been complaining to them and to the customs officials that export shipments are being badly mishandled by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) staff deputed at cargo at Islamabad airport, which is causing delay and then leading to missing the flights and deadline for reaching it to the destinations.

He said that the issue has been taken with the ANF high ups as well as other authorities concerned but of no avail. Clearing agents had approached to the Authorities through different chambers and representative platforms but the situation is still the same.
