'Locust swarm reaches to Sahiwal, Vehari and Arifwala'

Locust swarm has reached to Sahiwal, Vehari and Arifwala but the government has done nothing to control it which has till date destroyed crops standing over thousands of acres of land in the country.

This was claimed by the Kissan Board Pakistan (KBP) Central President Chaudhry Nisar Ahmad while meeting different delegations of farmers from Sindh, Southern Punjab and Sahiwal. The delegation informed the KBP leadership about havoc played by locust swarm in these areas.

The delegation was led by the KBP Southern Punjab President Hafiz Hussain Ahmad.

Talking to the delegation, KBP President Chaudhry Nisar expressed his sorrow over the damage caused by the locust swarm and financial loss suffered by the growers due to this calamity. He also criticized the sugar millers for hoodwinking the cane farmers.

He said if the government failed to tackle sugar millers and locust swarm it will lead to famine like situation next year.
