Allies have reposed trust in PM: Firdous

The allies of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government have reposed full confidence in leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, giving an end to rumors of cracks within the ruling coalition.

This was stated by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan while briefing the media after a meeting of the PTI's core committee chaired by the Prime Minister.

She aid that the Prime Minister thanked his allies for reposing confidence in him in the best national interest, and vowed to steer the country out of the prevailing economic crisis and other challenges with the help of the allies.

She said that the Prime Minister has directed National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to make a plan by Monday as what could be done for snow-affected areas of the country, especially Balochistan.

Awan said that the Prime Minister has reiterated the resolve to highlight issue of Kashmir, adding its is the commitment of the Prime Minister due to which the issue of Kashmir was discussed for the third time by the United Nations Security Council.

She said that the foreign minister, who is in the US, has once again taken up the issue and called upon the international community to play its due role in ending Indian atrocities being meted out to innocent people of Kashmir.

She said that Kashmir Day which falls on February 5 will be highlighted, as the Prime Minister has ordered to expose the heinous acts of Indian on innocent people of Kashmir.

At domestic front, she said that the government has decided to initiate further public-welfare projects both at district and national levels to give relief to the masses.

She said that the Prime Minister also approved the legal reforms structure prepared by the Insaf Legal Forum (ILF), which encompass speedy trial of cases, which would be a huge relief for the masses.

About National Accountability Ordinance (NAO), she said that the government bill and the proposals given by the opposition would be studied, as the Prime Minister has categorically said that there should be no compromise on eradication of corruption.

She said that Rs7 billion package for Utility Store Corporations, Rs 190 billion for Ehsaas program and health insurance under Sehat Insaf Card would provide relief to the needy.

To make sure the people should benefit from all these initiatives taken by the government for poor masses, she added, the Prime Minister has formed a committee to give recommendations how all these programs could be further streamlined to give maximum relief to the poor and needy.

She said that core committee also expressed concern over the controversy created by Minister for Water Resources Failsal Vowda, due to which the Prime Minister has sought an explanation from him within 24 hours, besides slapping him with a ban from appearing TV talk shows.

She said that Armed Forces have rendered great sacrifices for the motherland and no one would be allowed to ridicule the institutions of the national security.

The PTI leader also wished luck to the newly appointed Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar.
