PM to inaugurate Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park: minister

Provincial Minister for Industries and Trade, Mian Aslam Iqbal has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan would inaugurate Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park near Motorway in Sheikhupura in the month of March.

The minister disclosed this while talking to a delegation of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) led by its President Rana Sikandar-e-Aazam. He said that special incentives would be given to industrialist in the special economic zone and plots for setting up industrial units will also be given at subsidized rates.

He said that an expo centre on the land of 50 acres will be established in Faisalabad. Faisalabad is a big industrial city of the country and the establishment of expo centre is much needed. This centre will provide the platform for the exhibition of the local production, he said.

The Minister directed the Managing Director Punjab Small Industries Corporation to visit small industrial estate at Sargodha Road and resolve all the issues. A proposal of shifting Ghalla Mandhi and its related industry out of the city will be reviewed, he said.

He said the consultation process for promoting industrialization and to control the price hike will be continued. He promised to play effective role in resolving the problems faced by the industrialists. Special economic zones are being set up in the province which will help change the economic condition of the Punjab, he said.

The delegation apprised the minister of problems facing the local industry of Faisalabad. Provincial Minister Ajmal Cheema, Advisor to CM Umer Farooq and officers of the Industry department were also present in the meeting.

The delegation also briefed the minister about the issues regarding filer and non-filer, provision of five-acre land for the chamber, reservations regarding Punjab Small Industrial policy 2019 and industry problems.
