PTI's attitude led to Siddiqui's resignation: Waseem

The apathetic attitude of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led federation prompted the Information Technology and Telecommunication Minister Kahalid Maqbool Siddiqui to resign from the post for the sake of Karachi.

He expressed these views after inaugurating the Chrysanthemum Flower Show in district central.

MQM-P has formulated a policy which is implemented for now. He said agreement with PTI government was made for resolving the problems of Karachi. Various rounds of meetings were held in this connection, but to no avail.

Karachi is feeding whole country and resolution of its problems should be the priority of the federal government.

He said that problems in Karachi were not on the priority of federal or provincial government and that is the reason of our quitting the federal cabinet. People of Karachi are frustrated and now they only want their problems solved.

He said that guests came to our home, we served tea to them. He said PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari offered partnership in the provincial government but we are well aware that Pakistan People's Party (PPP) despite ruling over the province for the last 12 years, never bothered to address the issues of the metropolis.

Mayor said that district municipal administrations were promoting public activities but the city problems were remaining unsolved. Basic problems could be resolved with providing resources to district administrations.

"We have filed a petition on the powers of local bodies in the Supreme Court and we expect an early decision on this." he said.

Chairman DMC central Rehan Hashmi said that they had been holding this show regularly after preparing flowers with its own resources. Sports programmes will also be held in district central. Director Parks Central Nadeem Hanif gave briefing on this occasion.
