The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has once again extended the of filing of Total Income / Statements of final taxation for Individuals and Associations of Persons for the Tax Year 2019 upto January 31, 2020. According to an income tax circular number 18 of 2019 issued by the FBR, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 214A of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, the FBR has extended the date of filing of Income Tax Returns/Statements for the Tax Year 2019. The date of filing of Total Income / Statements of final taxation for Individuals and Associations of Persons for the Tax Year 2019 which were due on September 30, 2019 and extended upto December 31, 2019 is hereby further extended upto January 31, 2020. The date of filing of Total Income/ Statements of final taxation for Companies for the Tax Year 2019, which were due on so" September, 2019 and extended upto 31, 2019, in respect of those companies who have paid 95 percent of the admitted tax liability on or before September 30, 2019, is hereby further extended upto January 31, 2020, FBR added. Furthermore, the date of filing of Return of Total Income/ Statements of final taxation of Companies for the Tax Year 2019, which was due on December 31, 2019, is hereby extended upto January 31, 2020. Just a day ago, the Pakistan Tax Bar Association (PTBA) has approached the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for extension in the last date for filing of income tax returns of corporate and non-corporate sectors for the year 2019 up to 31st January, 2020 in order to facilitate the genuine taxpayers of the country. According to a communication of the PTBA to the FBR here on Monday, President PTBA Aftab Hussain Nagra said that the heartily efforts of Federal Board of Revenue are being appreciated wherein 2.73 million income tax returns were filed for tax year 2018 and setting its goal up to 3.3 million for tax year 2019, the FBR has achieved 2.2 million returns till date and such progress is still going on.
