MQM-P gives PPP the cold shoulder

Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) on Monday gave a cold response to offer of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to join its Sindh Government by disassociating itself from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-lead coalition government in centre."MQM-P joined the federal government for the betterment of Karachi and not for gaining the ministries," MQM-P spokesman announced after PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari extended the offer to the party for joining the provincial government.MQM-P said that though it was not satisfied with the performance of federal government in its one and half year tenure, however party would not leave the coalition on the whims and wishes of anyone.

Party is embarked upon the public right politics rather than for the sake of ministries and demanded PPP chief to include the remedies to the excesses committed with the people of Sindh particularly Karachi during 12 years rule of PPP in Sindh in his agenda."Bilawal should empower the local governments rather than offering ministries to MQM-P," spokesman asserted and extended the support to PPP if it brought the bill in the provincial assembly to empower local governments in the province."If PPP wants to take the remedial measures for excesses to urban centers of Sindh," party spokesman added then it should devolved Water Board, KDA, LDA and Building Control Authority to local government.
