Former president general (retd) Pervez Musharraf moved on Friday the Lahore High Court (LHC) challenging his death sentence in the high treason case.
In his petition filed through his counsel, Musharraf contended that the special court had rapidly wrapped up the trial, which was far from conclusion. Musharraf also challenged the verdict's graphic paragraph 66.
The petition stated that the honourable respective president of the special court crossed all religious moral, civil and constitutional limits in the verdict on paragraph 66, local media reported.
On December 17, a special court handed the former military death penalty in the high treason case. In its detailed verdict, a three-member bench of the special court, headed by Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth ordered that if found dead, the convict's corpse be dragged to D-Chowk Islamabad and be hanged for three days.
