Chinese investors briefed on Punjab trade opportunities

LAHORE: A delegation of entrepreneurs and representatives of Shenzhen Chamber of e-commerce, China, visited Punjab Board of Investment & Trade (PBIT) here Monday.

PBIT Chief Executive Officer Dr. Sajid Yoosufani briefed them about investment opportunities in Punjab and assured the Chinese of full support in setting up their business in Punjab.

Responding to their queries about the cost of doing business (Labour cost and tax policies), he said that Punjab offered investment-friendly policies where 100 percent foreign equity and remittances of capital, profits and dividends were allowed and only five percent custom duty was imposed on parts which were not available in Pakistan.

He also apprised them of the Protection of Economic Reform Act which protects foreign capital entering in Pakistan.

The delegation led by Ms Jennifer Tong, Chairperson, Shenzhen Chamber of e-commerce, expressed their deep appreciation for the provincial government's untiring efforts towards modernizing infrastructure in Punjab, implementation of technology in government affairs and youth empowerment through education and technology.
