NA to host regional dialogue today

The National Assembly will host today (Wednesday) a regional dialogue on "Role of Parliaments in Cementing Regional Integration" to focus on exploring the corridors of shared prosperity through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) for Pakistan and this region.

The event of regional dialogue would be held here at Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS). The dialogue will be attended by parliamentarians, diplomatic corps, intelligentsia, and representatives of the government and development experts. Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser would inaugurate the Dialogue at 10:00am on Wednesday with his key note address.

Chairman Parliamentary Committee on CPEC Sher Ali Arbab and Chinese Ambassador in Pakistan Yao Jing will also address inaugural session of the regional dialogue and highlight the role of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in progress and development of the region.

Asad Umar, Federal Minister for Planning Development & Reforms, Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Chairman, Senate's Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Akan Rakhmetullin, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Erik Beishembiev, Ambassador of Kyrgyz Republic, Shukrullah Atif Mashal, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Atajan Movlamov, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkmenistan, Ismatullah Nasreddin, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan, Furqat Sidiqov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and others would participate in the dialogue.

The second and concluding session of the Dialogue will focus on "CPEC- a win-win situation for all." On conclusion the report on "Building Regional Connectivity for Pakistan" by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) would also be launched.
