Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Information and Broadcasting (SAPM) Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Wednesday that after being rejected by the public, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman had no choice but to execute 'Plan Exit'.

The SAPM took to her Twitter handle and wrote that the JUI-F chief had arrived empty-handed in Islamabad and was leaving the same way. She continued that in view of the past few days, it is apparent as to who walked away and who remained standing.

She further said that although the Maulana's political roots were cut off by the people, he was still bent on taking revenge of democracy.

Awan further said that the public also rejected his road blockade plan, adding that the chief should not jeopardize his political career by standing in the way of democracy.

On Tuesday, the JUI-F had announced their decision to end road blockades in different parts of the country . The decision was announced by JUI-F leader and convener of the opposition’s Rehbar Committee Akram Khan Durrani. He further shared that all opposition parties had agreed to collectively hold public meetings at district levels throughout the country.

The opposition parties will protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) today to hold the hearing of the foreign funding case against the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on a daily basis.
