Qureshi introduces 'FM Connect'

In cognizance of the global evolution of communication and in recognition of the need for greater and quicker access to information, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi introduced 'FM Connect,' a concept based on the principle of fostering greater connect and interaction between relevant stakeholders and the foreign minister of Pakistan, his office said.

"Over a series of curate mornings throughout the year, the foreign minister will open the doors to his office to promote the exchange of ideas and discussion," it stated.

Qureshi initiated 'FM Connect' over an informal session with members of the international press. "Indeed FM Connect is in line with the foreign minister's commitment to drive the Foreign Office into a modern era of communications, collaboration and innovation," said the statement.

To this end, Qureshi first launched the FO Advisory Council in 2018 which brings together the expertise of the more seasoned diplomats with the current office. "FM Qureshi will also be launching the FM Direct App in 2019 along with a new website for the Foreign Office before the end of this year," it added.
