PTI govt has made people's lives miserable: minister

Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said that the present federal government is incompetent and has made people's live miserable.

He said that the federal government remained busy in accountability of opponents but the PPP made it clear that its leaders and workers were not afraid of accountability.

He was talking to media after chairing a 118th Governing Body meeting of HDA at the committee room of DG HDA Secretariat here on Thursday.

Replying to a question, the minister said that former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari was kept in prison illegally and references filed against him was baseless. He said that the PPP had trust in courts therefore it was hopeful of getting justice. He explained that the decision of Asif Ali Zardari of not taking bail was a kind of a protest against the federal government as he was seriously ill yet he was not allowed to get the treatment from his personal doctor and added that the government was providing treatment to Zardari by the government's doctors and we had reservations on them. Criticizing the PTI government, he said that federal government had not given clear stance on occupied Kashmir issue and had not given clear foreign policy about Kashmir. Replying to another question regarding Nawaz Sharif treatment in abroad, Shah said that their sympathies were with him and termed the act of PTI government as inhuman. He said that doctors of Shoukat Khanam Hospital had confirmed that Nawaz Sharif was badly ill.

About sit-in of Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman and sealing of provincial borders by the JUI-F, the minister said that Maulana staged a sit-in against incompetent government but keeping in view the people's interest, the Sindh government would take decision regarding sealing of borders by the JUI-F.

Regarding payment of salaries of HDA, WASA and Sindh Building Control Authority employees, he said that in the past recruitment had not done on merit and in few departments people were recruited more than their sanctioned strength therefore the problem of salaries had risen, However, he would talk to the Chief Minister Sindh for resolving this issue, he assured.
