Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif submitted on Friday an application to the Ministry of Interior seeking the removal of Nawaz Sharif’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL).

If the plea is accepted, Nawaz might leave for London next week, local media reported. Earlier, PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz said that her uncle has been managing the matter of removal of Nawaz's from the ECL.

She said Sharif's health is critical and he should be taken anywhere around the world where his treatment is possible. However, MAryam said she will not be able to travel as her passport is with the court. "If he goes abroad for treatment and I do not go with him, it will be difficult," she said.

Nawaz is currently being treated at his residence where an ICU unit has been established under the supervision of the former premier’s personal physician Dr Adnan Malik.

On Wednesday, Maryam was released on bail after her surety bonds and passport were submitted in the Lahore High Court (LHC). She was granted bail in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case by the LHC on Monday.
