KMDC staff condemns KMC after non-payment of salaries

The salaries of KMDC employees BPS-17 TO BPS-21 is due from July, leaving the teaching faculty helpless and in protest teaching at the college has been suspended for a week.

KMDC was established in 1992 by KMC, it has an autonomous body under the governing board chairman, Mayor/Administrator KMC. According to bylaws the KMC is responsible for bearing all expenses of the college including payment of salaries.

However, the KMC has been gradually reducing its grant, leaving the college administration unable to pay salaries to its teaching staff for the last four months.

The faculty and principal of KMDC went to meet the mayor and KMC officials on Wednesday but were not allowed to enter the premises, as senior teaching faculty members were forced to sit on roads in protest. The KMDC faculty has condemned the KMC act and has demanded their issues to be resolved at earliest.
