  • Kashmir and its decades old occupation is one of oldest issues on agenda of UNCS, PM said.
  • "Pakistan will always stand with the UN in our common quest to leave no one behind," PM said.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has urged United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to fulfill its commitment, implement its own resolutions and provide Kashmiris their right to self determination.

In his message on United Nations Day, PM said the UN has served as a beacon of hope against privations of injustice and oppression to millions. However, the PM added that the Kashmiris in Indian occupied Kashmir are still waiting for the international community to fulfill its promise.

He further said that one of the oldest issues on the agenda of the UNSC, which is the situation in occupied Kashmir serves as an ignominious reminder of a brutal and oppressive occupation that has already lasted a lifetime."The people of Jammu and Kashmir are still waiting for the international community to fulfill its promise to provide them with the opportunity to freely exercise their inalienable right to self-determination," PM said.

He further said that Pakistan is proud to have played its part in upholding the noble ideals espoused by the UN. "Pakistan, as an ardent supporter of a rules based international system, will always stand with the United Nations in our common quest to leave no one behind," the PM said.
