(Karachi) Prime Minister Imran Khan has launched the ‘Kamyab Jawan Programme’ – an initiative for the welfare of the country’s youth, at Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad on Thursday.
While addressing inaugural ceremony of ‘Kamyab Jawan Programme’, Imran Khan said youth are future of Pakistan and our destiny depends on them. He said PTI government strongly believes in merit and transparency.
He congratulated all stakeholders for launching the first phase of the programme for youth of the country.
Imran Khan said, “We have to change our thinking to become a self-reliant nation. For this, we will need to develop a culture of paying taxes.”
He said as part of the ‘Kamyab Jawan Programme’, one hundred billion rupees will be distributed among youth as loans for their business ventures.
He said the youth will be provided loans under three categories and the scheme will benefit one million youth.
The PM highlighted that a quota of twenty five percent has been allocated for women to increase their share in the national economy.
Talking about madressahs, Prime Minister Imran said that 500 labs will also be established in seminaries. "This is the first government which has taken [such] initiatives. We will consider seminary students as our own children and we will impart science education to them," he said.
Imran Khan maintained only those nations prosper that follow the rule of merit. He said the Muslims ruled the world for over a thousand years as a result of establishment of state of Madinah by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The prime minister said the main reason for demise of Muslims in the world was the adoption of monarchy and not giving due rights to their society. Khan pointed out the Mughal Empire declined as they did not follow the rule of merit.
The Prime Minister urged the youth to read about the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as he is a role model for the whole world.
Earlier, briefing media about the programme, Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Youth Affairs Usman Dar said that the programme has been developed to enable the country's youth to prosper.
"I am happy because the programme is the first step towards fulfilling the PTI's promise for youth's prosperity," he said.
He said that as per the instructions of the prime minister, the programme is completely transparent and merit-based. "To ensure transparency, the entire programme is made available on a digital platform," he said, adding that a scorecard has been developed on the basis of artificial intelligence to run the programme.
The programme is focused on ensuring employment opportunities to the youth.
"No amount of people’s tax is incurred on the programme as it is supported by UN Development Programme," he added.
