(Karachi) The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, are attending a reception at the Pakistan National Monument in Islamabad.

The event is hosted by British High Commissioner Thomas Drew in their honour. The royal couple will have the chance to meet people from different segments of the Pakistani society.

Kate Middleton wore a bottle green evening gown for the glittering reception, while Prince William also wore a  Sherwani - usually worn for formal occasions or weddings - with matching trousers.

The couple drove up in the rickshaw decorated to mark the royal visit and fitted with lights for the grand occasion.

The Duke of Cambridge is due to make a keynote speech at the reception set to highlight the relationship between the UK and Pakistan, describing Britain's support for Pakistan's frontline role in the fight against terrorism.

Prominent personalities, including Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, Wasim and Shaniera Akram, cricketer Mohammad Hafeez, and others are attending the event.

The National Monument is all lit up, providing a beautiful backdrop for the setting of the reception.
