(Karachi) Two authors won the Nobel Prize in Literature on Thursday. The recipients of the award are Austrian Author Peter Handke and Poland’s Olga Tuckarczuk.

The Swedish Academy named Handke as laureate of the year 2019, while Tuckarzukl was named laureate of the year 2018 after postponing last year’s award due to a scandal.

Handke won the award for “Linguistic ingenuity that explored the periphecy of human experience.” He became one of the most influential writers after the World War II, the Nobel committee said.

Tuckarzuk won the Nobel award for “narrative imagination that with encyclopedic passion represents the crossing of boundaries as a form of life.”

The last year’s Nobel Prize in Literature was postponed in wake of a financial and sexual scandal that engulfed the Swedish Academy.
