A major and a sepoy were martyred on Friday in an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Mohmand tribal district.

The Director General Inter-Service Public Relations (DGISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor took to the official Twitter handle and wrote that Major Adeel Shahid and Sepoy Faraz Hussain embraced martyrdom when they were supervising fencing work in an area which carried critical infiltration route.

"Squad under shaheed officer was supervising fencing work in an area which carried critical infiltration route. Shaheeds fell victim to an IED planted by terrorists from across the border," the DG ISPR wrote.

On September 14, three soldiers embraced martyrdom and one got injured in Dir after terrorists fired from acros the border.
